A tool to convert your MS Word (DOC) or RTF files into various MS Excel formats. Okdo Word Rtf to Excel Converter supports the latest file formats for both MS Word and MS Excel files, and it can also convert your files in batches. In addition, you can save your conversion list to a disk file and re-load it later, among other interesting features.

The program allows you to add files for conversion either on an individual basis or by selecting a folder and letting the program find all the files inside it in the supported formats. It will add them for you to the list automatically to save time. Either way, the program will create a conversion list where you will find all the files selected together with their path, file size, file type, and date of last modification. You can remove any of those files, and change their conversion order as well.

As for the output format, you can choose among three options: MS Excel 97 - 2003 (XLS), MS Excel 2007 (XLSX), and MS Excel 2007 with macros (XLSM). For the output folder, you can set the program to save the converted files in the same folder as the source files or specify a custom folder. Additionally, you may set the program to keep the layout of the source files or extract and convert only the textual parts. You can also choose to convert each page into separate Excel files.

Even though this program fully accomplishes the task it was designed for, its application field is very narrow, as there are not many real cases where conversion from an MS Word file into an MS Excel spreadsheet really makes sense. This makes its price tag of $35.95 seem pretty high.
